HONDA CBR1000RR Fireblade
The FireBlade broke the supersports mould when it was released in 1992. Based on a concept of ‘less is more’ and with a power to weight ratio that astounded the motorcycling world, the Blade became an instant hit. An institution. The FireBlade’s original objective was to achieve the highest power to weight ratio. But for 2004, regulation changes were announced for WSB and Honda wanted to take advantage of this new opportunity. Using the RCV as a basis, the objective for the new Blade is to provide stronger power, a strikingly beautiful design and cleaner performance than any of the competition. In other words, to provide more than just figures on a page. It should be the perfect package all together, with the engine’s power working throughout the power band rather than just at the top end.
